Hibiscus sabdariffa

Known for its crimson beauty, Hibiscus, aka Roselle, is typically used to make fibre for textiles and cordage and as an infusion. Intensely pigmented, the infusion is made from dried Hibiscus flowers. 

Origin: Africa and Southeast Asia

Season: Summer harvest

Benefits: Heart health, particularly lowering blood pressure
